Great post by Adam Singer over on Future Buzz about journalist’s using blogging as an entreprenerial tool. He’s right, blogging is the best platform for people to write about what they care about. Every local newspaper needs to start learning some lessons as local bloggers could technically start covering their ‘patch’ better than the big-boys.

One Comment on “Why blogging is important to journalists, writers and business”

  • Blogging has been really important in helping me gain work experience. I would like to become a broadcast journalist (in radio preferably but I don’t mind 360.) and working for Gigbeth and with Chris Unitt on Created in Birmingham helped me get a BBC Blast placement over the summer. I also won a 4Talent competition on twitter and because of my experience I ended up being paid to go to Bestival and produce a podcast. I’ll have my first print article published at the end of the month in 4Talent magazine.

Twitter is also very important and is underestimated by people my age (I’m 19.) Most of my friends have never heard of it but are suprised when I tell them I’m ‘followed’ by the producer of the Archers, amongst others.
