The idea of personal brand has now definitely hit the recruitment industry. Whereas employers used to be the ones thinking about how potential recruits perceived their brands, the emphasis has shifted and it is up to employees to prove they are active contributors. I'd love to know what people think about whether a personal brand can decide if you get your dream job or how far you can progress at work - read more here http://blogs.freshminds.co.uk/talent/?p=261 and I'd be really keen to hear your comments.

Thanks,
Charlie

I agree - LinkedIn is a far superior networking tool than Facebook (although to be fair to Facebook, it was never set up to be a business networking tool, more a way for old friends and colleagues to connect).

Another excellent online networking tool is Fast Pitch (http://fastpitchnetworking.com). I've used this to great success and have met a few new clients through there.

Cheers! :)
